Water Leader From Reedley Named to State Parks and Recreation Commission

November 4, 2009

Mario Santoyo of Reedley, a San Joaquin Valley water leader for much of his career as a civil engineer, has been appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger to the State Parks and Recreation Commission. The position will require confirmation by the state Senate. The 52-year-old long-time Reedley resident for the past several years has been increasingly active in water issues at the state and federal levels as Friant Water Authority Assistant General Manager, and as a Director and Technical Advisor for the California Latino Water Coalition.
